Electrical hazards

Not yet in force

Risk to health from shock and burns from exposure to electricity, including lightning strikes. Fires started by electricity are assessed under fire and explosions.

  • Significant hazard: due from 30 November 2026, subject to the amending Regulations being approved and made.
  • Emergency hazards: an emergency hazard of this type has applied since 27 October 2025 (all prescribed hazards except crowding and space).
  • In Assure, reports can be recorded under this category, but the diagnosis and statutory clock are not yet built.
